Another Year

Sometimes it still feels like it was just yesterday that we heard the news; so fresh and un-believable. And sometimes it feels wrong to discover that I'm getting used to Nathan being gone, and that life has simply carried on without him.

But, as we expected, our lives haven't been the same - and won't ever be the same - and that harsh reality is what breaks my heart...

Well put words! Seeing that first picture made it feel like he was actually still here. We feel along with all of you! Tears are in my eyes as I think of you and your family today. Sending lots of love and hugs and prayers!

I think of you all often at this time of the year (and throughout the year as well). My heart breaks for you all. Praying for you.

Heavy sigh. Sometimes it feels like just weeks ago, and other times it feels like forever since the old, blissful normal. I'm sad that I'm starting to lose the 'audio clip' I've replayed a thousand times in my head - Nathan's laugh. It starts out sounding like Nathan, but now it it is starting to melt into a blend of Nathan/Erik. We have been re-living our experiences surrounding the circumstances of July 20/2007, and in that, keeping you and the family uppermost in our thoughts and prayers. Love you, Sharon, for the rest.

If I sit here and cry, I can't imagine the pain that you still feel. We love you.

I was thinking of your family often yesterday, as well as many times over these 7 months that I've been raising 3 brothers. I pray my boys will grow to be men of solid faith and integrity, just as the Toews brothers have evidenced by their lives.

i'm sitting here tonite - with this PIT in my stomach as i'm aching about the loss of little Noah. and then i scroll down & see these pictures of Nathan. that PIT i felt that day, is still there, for you guys, your family & Rosanna. we have a picture of Nathan on our fridge - so we think of him everyday. he is a reminder to us that we need to live everyday like it's our last, make our family & friends aware of how much we love & appreciate them everyday, and that we need to be LIVING what we say we believe, not just SAYING it. we know that's what Nathan did, and his photo reminds us of all those things. it will still have a place on our fridge when we get to the 'Peg.
we love you guys. we ache for you & all you have lost.
Dear God, watch over our friends & their families, heal their hearts & guard their spirits. Remove all doubt & discouragement, replace it with joy & HOPE. You WILL continue to walk with them through these shadows & valleys of death. You WILL not let them sink or fail. Surround them with love and peace.
Thank you Lord for your faithfulness, and that it truly IS new everymorning.
