New Year's Walk

New Year's Day dawned bright and sunny, so off we headed to Mill Lake for a leisurely stroll...

Silas promptly pulled off his mittens when we got to the park. Erik decided that my giant olympic mitts would do the trick. And they did. For a little while.

Silas spent more time walking than riding. Like I said, it was a leisurely stroll.

We had fun watching the ducks slip and slide on the ice.

(Side note: Some people have been asking about Erik's knee since his injury in October. I'm happy to report that he's feeling great. He's on a wait-list for surgery, but seems to be functioning well in the meantime!)

"Cheese!"

Gotta love the January sunshine.

Who would have known that thin ice could provide such entertainment? We spent a lo-o-ong time throwing rocks and sliding chunks of ice on the surface to see how far they would travel.

Happy New Year!

In my defense, it was cold and I was more concerned about freezing ear lobes than owies to the head. And, once again, this was a SLOW walk around the lake...

Hi Jaimie!!
I've been trying to see how I could get a hold of you! It's Karola! I used to be Micah's preschool teacher! I loved seeing some pictures of your family! They are all getting so big! And wow, Micah is 6 already? Time has just flown by! I just wanted to let you know that, I'm still at Simonhouse Bible Camp, and Darrell the Director has got me putting slides on a scanner so that we can have them in our computer, and I have seen so many pictures with you in them! I bet you haven't seen some of these! If you want I can send you some over e-mail!! Anyway, I hope you are doing great! Blessings to you! - Karola

Hey Karola - I'm glad you found me! I love that you're finding all those pictures (nasty as some of them may be!) I hope things are going well for you there! Are you on facebook? Maybe I'll try to find you there.
