Swiper No Swiping!

I'm amazed at the things Micah picks up - some good, some not so good. He surprised us in Edmonton one night when he grabbed a toy from Keziah, threw it across the hotel room and said, "You'll never get this now, Sweetheart!"

It's admittedly cute and funny, but we've heard a similar phrase from him a few more times since then (accompanied by the toy-stealing) and I just couldn't figure out where he would've heard this.

Well, it all came together for me when we were watching Dora the Explorer this morning. Swiper the fox swiped something from Dora and Boots and said, "You'll never get this now!" Who knew Dora could have such a bad influence...

Ah yes...Micah sounds like Hailey. I am right at this stage with you. Hailey started saying "stupid" the other day. It's not like it's a "bad" word, but to hear a 2 year old say "You stupid monkey!" and throw her stuffed monkey across the room isn't exactly good. It was funny, but we tried not to laugh so she could see us. We are trying to teach her to say "silly" instead of "stupid"! Oh the joys!!!

How can you not laugh, hey. I remember Taylor repeating phrases from Dora cosntantly when she was about 3! I don't know how I feel about that show anymore...:-) Micah is adorable! I also love how he added "sweetheart" to it!

Oh no! It's amazing what they pick up, hey? My niece Emily said "Holy crap" one day, I think she was about two. It sounded so terrible out of her little innocent mouth that we all said we would never say anything "Holy" in front of her again!

Hahahaha...what a character he is! It would have been tough NOT to laugh at that comment...especially the "sweetheart" part :)

LOL - I know I can 'cause he's not my kid! Oh the things I have to look forward to :) Your weekend to Edmonton looked like so much fun (I've never been). How long was the drive? Also, it looked like the new sling worked well - very stylish!

LOL!! who knew Dora could be a bad influence. These kids are sponges, they soak up everything and when you least expect it, they blurt it out
