39 weeks and counting...

I thought I'd better blog an update since I haven't written since Friday and some of you may be wondering... As you can see, the baby is still happily snuggled inside of my belly at 39 weeks. I don't think my belly can stretch any bigger (as you can see from the new set of stretch marks...)

The conference on Saturday was amazing. I've never heard so many great speakers in one day. It was an 8-hour day, but it went by really fast! I felt pretty good - I had a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions all day, but nothing else to report. We went out for spicy Thai food for supper and I was hoping that might get things moving, but so far... nothing.

Yesterday was a relaxing day that included the traditional supper meal with Erik's family. Rosanna and Elissa had me doing aerobics in the hopes to induce labour. I had some more contractions, but otherwise... nothing.

I did wake up at 4 this morning feeling a little weird. I had some really strong Braxton Hicks that actually woke me up during the night and some of them started wrapping around my back and feeling crampy, but nothing has transpired. It can't be much longer though! I'm expecting that by this time next week I will have a newborn in my arms - so here's hoping that the membrane stripping on Wednesday is a success if nothing happens before then!

I had to include this picture of me at 8 weeks - will I ever be that tiny again???

Oh Jamie- you are so cute! I love the belly!!! I am still checking your blog constantly in hopes you will be in labor- but that might just make me more anxious to get my own wee one out!! Isn't it crazy to look back to those tiny tummy days? Will it EVER be flat again?!? I don't even remember what my feet look like when I am standing!! :) Hopefully your next entry will include photos of that little babe!! Keep me updated on the stripping (uh- of your membranes that is!!).
love,
Kerri (posting anon. again incase the blogger doesn't let me post)

Jamie - your tummy is SO beautiful! I love it! It looks ready (and willing) to let baby out soon though. I know how you feel about your 8 week photo - ah, I wonder the same thing - will I ever be that tiny again?! I will be praying the stripping does the trick on Wednesday!

Janelle - I asked Rosanna or Elissa to help Erik blog the news once it happens since he would be totally lost on blogger! And we'll probably send out a big email, too. I might even try to post before we go into the hospital if there's time and I'm feeling up to it...

I'm also checking to see if Gran Kathy has her little grandchild before or after Kerri's comes. It's such an axciting time and the days before seem looooong for us grandparents so I imagine even longer for you being tired and uncomfortable. This part was always my most exciting time and so I'll pray you have a fast and "fun" delivery like I had with my kids. I'ts such a miracle and all the best!!

Hey James,
That looks like one healthy baby you've got hidden away - looks like he/she is ready to make an entrance. I had a dream the other night that it was a she, and she was very cute, so I might have to take back my boy guess. The Lord be with you in the coming weeks.

Wow 39 weeks - I can't imagine as I only made it to 36-6 but you look great and you'll be back to being thin in no time. I remember the first time you came to church after Micah was born - you looked great and I think it was only a week after.

I do remember though walking by store displays or other women and oogling their waists.

I hope this baby decided to come out soon - we'll be praying and checking the blog for news.
